Today I’ve been learning how to use a real camera. Luckily I live with a professional photographer, which is good and bad. It’s bad because I usually just ask him to take a picture for me – much faster and easier, so I never learn. But it’s good, of course, because anything I want to know, I can learn/ask/get help with. Lighting too. It’s never been a passion of mine – photography, but it does help to know how to take a good photo in this day and age, especially if you have a blog! Everyone loves nice pictures right?
So I’m grappling with the Canon 7D and marvelling at lenses, I really see why people get into this. Modern photography is really a marvel, I’ve mentioned it before. But it seems like no time ago when I was fumbling around in the Campbell High school dark room, trying to wind my film successfully and not even sure what my images were going to look like until tiresome processing was complete. Technology has really changed fast in my lifetime and it amazes me that I am already dumbfounded by it and I’m not even 35.
Sometimes if it’s not a passion, you don’t put in the time to get good, but I think I’ll work on it slowly and pretty soon you can all be the judge!
I am still planning my two sisters’ quilts. I’m going to ask Kel today what she thinks of this bundle. Yellow and grey is nice and not too girly. Comma is a great collection, I think it will look great in simple squares. We’ll see what she says, it might wind up being just grey and white.
PS I had a brutal crotch fail on my bike today – Ange and I thought we could ride up to get Mitch’s 30 lb of dog food and ride it home on our bikes WITH Mitch in tow. Keep in mind we never take Mitch bike riding. It was a disaster and now I have ice where it really shouldn’t be.
